What is Medicus?

Medicus is the first and only treatment program that allows clients to obtain complete substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment or both in the comfort of their own home through live bi directional video. Treatment includes integrated pain management, neurology, medical and psychiatry specialists to treat all aspects of a disorder. The program has undergone rigorous clinical trials to ensure its safety and effectiveness. Clients conveniently access treatment through any video enabled device such as a computer, tablet or even smart phone from any location at any time. Because we offer many scheduling options and clients do not have to travel, our program provides high quality care without disturbing work or home life. Employers, health plans and workers compensation carriers turn to Medicus to provide a complete spectrum of behavioral and mental healthcare to their U.S. based and international members.

Benefits of Medicus

Patients, health plans and employers all benefit from Medicus

Rigorously studied for effectiveness – Two published clinical trials have proven the effectiveness of our unique program.  Our treatment model is clinically proven and scientifically based for success.

Comprehensive behavioral & mental healthcare – Complete spectrum of both mental health and substance abuse treatment programs.  We have a decade of experience providing Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and buprenorphine maintenance for opioid abuse as well as providing medical detox for alcohol, opioid and benzodiazepine abuse.  We provide comprehensive mental health treatment which includes psychiatrists, counselors, therapists and case managers.

Inured workers – Our highly successful Functional Restoration Program (FRP) and opioid weaning program for injured workers in conjunction with pain management and psychiatric services has been hailed as a game changer for the workers compensation industry.

Return to work Our integrated case management system works with an employer’s HR office to get a client back to work quickly

Does not disturb family and work life schedule -Clients may access treatment while continuing to live at home and work without disruption to family or work life.

Consistent results -Our program is designed to deliver the same high caliber of treatment no matter what the geographic location of our clients are. All clients receive the same evidence based and clinically proven treatment that create consistent successful results.

Peer to peer support -Clients enjoy a support network of peers throughout and after treatment.

Lower relapse rate – Providing treatment to clients living in their own home environment allows us to teach coping mechanisms for the unique daily stressors of their lives. This tailored treatment approach results in far lower SUD relapse and mental health decompensation rates.

Cost effective– Medicus treatment programs are a fraction of what traditional residential, outpatient or office based treatment programs are.

Improved specialty access- Our program provides substance abuse and mental healthcare access to clients in areas where treatment access is difficult to obtain, such as rural areas.

Higher completion rates– Our clients have much higher program completion rates resulting in greater treatment success.

Reduced employee absenteeism and greater productivity– Treatment is rendered at the convenience of the client on their schedule at home. Clients do not have to travel to a treatment program or office. This results in higher employee productivity and less absenteeism due to treatment schedules.

Long term monitoring– We rigorously monitor our clients for one year after completion of treatment to ensure long term success.
